UMPACI FILMMAKER/cinematographer - WHO AM I?

My name is Jovan Angjeleski, and I am a photographer and filmmaker based in Kicevo, North Macedonia. I have recently completed my studies in Photography and Film Arts at the University for Film and Theatre “Europa Prima” in Skopje, where I earned my diploma.

I have extensive experience photographing major cultural and institutional events. In 2023, I was one of two official photographers at the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council held at Arena “Boris Trajkovski.” I have worked as an official photographer for Zlatna Bubamara (2022–present), one of the most prominent cultural events in the country, and A1 Gamefest (2021–present).

I hold certificates from the “Fotosofia” photo seminar by Damir Hoyka and a WordPress photo seminar held in Skopje. I have served as Director of Photography on the short films Elka (dir. Luka Jovanoski) and Nur (dir. Marija Perchinovska), and I was the filmmaker of the documentary Chasmal Fear.

For over eight years, I have worked with the production company “Foto Zoran,” specializing in wedding, event, and studio photography. My diploma project documents monastic life at the Precista Monastery near Kičevo, and a photographic monograph based on this work will be published, portraying the daily life of the nuns and their spiritual routine.
